Exposure
Exposure is an international DJ, producer, label owner, and promoter with years of experience and expertise in supplying dirty basslines to the masses.
Demonstrating a unique musical style spanning the full spectrum of Jungle and Drum and Bass (with occasional forays into neurobreaks), Exposure has firmly planted himself within the 174 BPM landscape.
Growing up in and around Bristol, Exposure has always been surrounded by Drum and Bass. However, it was not until 2007 when he landed work in Nottingham with Detonate and began to cut his musical teeth in earnest. Not only did this opportunity catapult him onto massive lineups, it also equipped him with the skills needed to launch the ‘Rescued’ events brand in Brisbane upon his move down under in 2009. Under
his guidance, the brand managed to secure performances from esteemed artists including Andy C, Friction, and DJ Marky.
His return to Bristol offered the perfect opportunity for new musical adventures in the form of A R Records. The label acts as a home for not only his own releases, but also music from Break, Revaux, Melinki, Specialist Sound and No Human Sound. Since its inception in 2015, Exposure has led the
imprint from strength to strength as an extension of his own musical direction. In 2022, Exposure embarked on another new mission; to push Drum and Bass in Portugal with his latest project, a festival and events brand called Natropolis.
On top of this, Exposure’s musical output has been nothing short of prolific over the past few years. Aside from releases on A R Records, he has also earned the seal of approval from established and up-and-coming labels alike; Jungle Cakes, Bad Taste, Symbiotik and Addictive Behaviour have all
flocked to have a slice of Exposure.
Such talent has not gone unnoticed. Exposure has gained support from BBC Introducing on numerous occasions, received major radio play, and garnered the confidence of Bad Taste to press a collaboration with AKOV to vinyl. As a DJ, his reputation behind the decks has secured him many opportunities, including a residency at Lakota and appearances at Let It Roll at O2 Academy Brixton, Shambala Festival, El Dorado Festival, and Ying-Yang Festival, where he performed atop the Great Wall of China.
To top this off, Exposure also runs BS3 studios in Bristol in order to motivate and inspire the next generation of artists. Exposure shows no signs of taking his foot off the gas. Plenty more exciting releases are in the works and awaiting announcement. The real journey has only just begun.
