Lee H Michaels

Lee H Michaels has always been a DJ. It’s in his blood; his soul, and by the age of 16 he was already in the clubs of the South West spinning his musical stories and creating memories for generations of clubbers.

Beginning his journey at The Tube in Tiverton, Mid Devon with local promoters, Plastic Fantastic was the first step into a world he’s excelled in ever since. Quickly gaining a fanbase and the attention of local party runners, Lee was soon a resident DJ for Big Hammer Promotions which led to warm up slots with luminary DJs such Tony De Vit and Trevor Rockcliffe.

Headlining sets for Big Hammer lead to his first overseas gigs in Spain, Ibiza playing with more of the cream of UK talent. Ever a DJs DJ, Lee has, over the years, always strived to work for quality promoters such that he has held residencies at Tranz@ction (Truro, L2), Electronic Sessions (London), Defected Records (Bristol, London),Magic hatstand (Exeter) Housework (London, Corfu), headlining Pacha in Egypt and guest slots at The Gallery and Saturday Sessions at The Ministry of Sound in London.

Cementing his position in the business side of the music industry, Lee has managed clubs and festivals in the South West as well as tour managing for Defected Records/Gillerbox at some of the biggest venues in the UK including, Motion (Bristol), SWG3 (Glasgow), Pacha (London) and Ministry of Sound (London). He’s also promoted for brands and his own nights: House Trap and his new venture, Fluke alongside Bliss.

As with many in the music business, Lee’s connection to the music has transcended the ups and downs of life. “Music saved the day for me when I was made redundant after 15 years service at the Devon County Council” He remembers, “Two weeks later the phone rang. It was Defected Records asking me to join the label as one of their tour managers.” It’s that hope in the face of adversity that drives Lee towards ever bigger successes.
